Net book Reflection 2012

It was cool getting our net books at the beginning of the year. I like doing my work on my net book instead of a book. I can write a lot and faster and my hand doesn't get sore. I really like writing and sharing it on my blog. 

I also like reading and researching to help my learning. This year we learnt about gardening and compost. I was able to find lots of good information to help me make compost and we planted maori potatoes. 

Sometimes the Internet is slow and I get the 'trying to reach Google' message, it makes me disappointed.

I'd like to learn more languages next year. We will be learning Spanish. I'm going to go on Google Translate and learn some Spanish greetings.

Blogging About Taekwon Do

• The 1st was easy
• The 2nd one was kinda easy
• Then we wanted to break 2 boards together
• We broke 2 different boards  

When we had to break a board I didn't want to do
it because I was shy.All of my friends said come on do it please.I thought to myself i'm gonna do it and I did. I did it for all my friends who encouraged me. It took me like one go and it broke it half.

Minette said ‘’If you guys want to break 2 boards then make a line.’’It was a long line because everyone wanted to break 2 boards. When it was my turn it took me 3 kicks and then it broke in half. It was cool because we all had a turn kicking the board.I never gave up because I was kicking the board and it was fun.


At the end Minette ‘’asked’’ us if  we had any  questions. It took five minutes for us to ask her questions and discuss things about Taekwon Do. In 8 weeks in Taekwon Do we learned a whole lot of kicks and punches to defend ourselves.
 

My Statistics Survey

Tamaki Primary School AThletics Team Rooms.

We are learning to put information into graphs,and make statements about the information we can see in   the  graphs.This investigation is to find out witch rooms in our school have in the athletics team.

The room with the most athletes is room 8.They have 18 athletes in the team.

The two rooms with the least  athletes are rooms 1 and 9 they don't have any athletes in the team.That's because they are too young to go to the zone competition.

The haunted house

W.A.L.T: Write an orientation for a narrative

The yellow moon was sitting up in the sky as it started getting darker and darker. I was  frightened because the streets lights were flickering on and off. I was walking home all by myself when I saw a haunted house it had a big dusty clock on the house,the trees were naked. I saw a few bats flying around the house. It felt like a horror movie there were a few

black headstones in front of the house. There was a giant gargoyle sitting on top of the metal fence it was glowing like a ghost, but the scariest part on the gargoyle was that its eyes were red like a demon's eyes watching me. It was standing out with its glowing red eyes. I was apprehensive to walk past the house  so I tip-toed past the gate as fast as I could  but then I heard this loud groan coming from inside the house.

Then I thought to myself ‘Man I have to go in there’ So I walked to the haunted house and took a step in the gate. I didn't know what to do so I knocked on their door and waited, when I looked up I saw a warlock. I looked afraid of him because he looked scary.He had  a mole on his face and he had a bum chin. I felt like throwing up. I shouted at the warlock “your hideous!” and then ran, but he chased me so I ran as fast as I could but he was pretty fast.

I thought to myself will I survive ? My sad face running as fast as I could, I ran then I saw a green bush it looked like the color of my t-shirt I hid behind it.Then the warlock stop and started to walk I ran back to his house.By the time i got in there he was at the gate.I leapt over the black graves that said R.I.P girl.

I ran into his kitchen, I ran into a old skeleton I got petrified because it was hideous he got to the door I hid under the table the warlock was sniffing for me because they are good sniffers. I almost cried because I was horrified that he was going to find me. I wanted to go back home because I missed my mum,dad, my brothers and sisters. I never usually get scared but that day I got scared because I didn't know what to do. Because I was scared my head turned blank like a white piece of paper. I ran up the wooden stairs and then I saw a little girl sitting in the corner scared.  Luckily I had a phone and I took a fast picture of her.Then I went to the toilet and hid behind the door he went in his room.He was looking in his room for 10 minutes he took so long because his room was as messy as a pig sty. Everywhere,pillows on the ground,dirty blankets on food. I was disgusted because his room looked yuck.

Then the warlock went to the toilet and I slammed the door on his head and ran. He had some blood on his forehead.I had a little laugh ‘hehehe’ then I grabbed the little girl and told her to go home. She ran to her house as fast as she could she was frightened I finished him off by using my UFC moves.
I put him to sleep and  then I walked out of the haunted and I noticed that the fence was closed so I kicked the fence opened and went home. The flickering lights were annoying.

In the Pacific ocean not far from Rarotonga is the beautiful island of Aitutaki. When you see the stunning, clear water you feel like swimming in it. One day after I arrived in Aitutaki, I was starting school  for the day and there was a bully. Usually I was scared of bullies, but this day I had enough! I decided that today was the day to stand up for myself. Jonive came up to me and pushed me. I fell and banged my head on a metal rubbish bin. My head started spinning and I started to feel weird. I opened my eyes and I could see a bright green ball form around me like the room was filled with a toxic green cloud.

When I got up I pushed Jonive. He flew way back like I had chucked a baseball to the back of the room instead of a boy. I started thinking, “But...but how?” So I picked up a half eaten orange that was on the floor and hurled it. It smashed through the wall like a bullet!

“Ohh My Gosh it can be that I have powers?” I thought. I picked up the rubbish bin. Everyone was looking at me. I could tell that they were wondering, “What is she doing?” They formed a huge circle around me and and once I touched the bin I only had to look at it and a blue laser just shot from my eyes. “What’s happened to me?” I said to myself. I was starting to freak myself out so I sprinted out of the room and found a quiet place to think.

“Man I just shot a blue laser at a rubbish bin.” I felt like a superhero! Ever since I hurt Jonive, no one, absolutely no one tried to hurt me or even touch me because they knew what would happen.

Some time later, some other bullies came from another country. They had heard that I had superpowers and decided to take me on. They came to me with gigantic rock. Their leader came up to me and threw it at me and then I ducked. Luckily it just missed my head. I saw a rotten feijoa on the ground. I used my power, called solidify, to make it rock hard and I aimed it at his face. He did something really fast and so strange that I didn’t know what he had done. It went flying towards his face, but then it rebounded off a force field type thing. “MAN!I thought I thought I was the only one with powers!”  I wondered “How am I gonna defeat him?”

So used my telekinesis to control his brain. I made him slap his own head over and over again. He looked so stupid jumping around yelling, “Ouch! Hey! Stop it!” because everyone thought he was doing it to himself.

When he was jumping around slapping himself I discovered that when I control his mind I get to use his powers. I heard voices behind me so I turned around to see who was coming next. I used my new powers to put a shield around myself. Before I could look, the next guy tried to hit me with the hammer. He swung it at the back of my head. It rebounded off my shield back into his face. He started bleeding but he grabbed a wood and whacked it across my face. I fell flat on my back. He picked me up by my throat with one hand, lifted me off the ground and started strangling me. While we were struggling I reached into my pocket, grabbed a handful of  jelly beans and shoved it in his mouth. He started choking. His face turned red and his eyes went big with shock and fear. He wasn't expecting me to do that.

The last bully ran towards me. I saw a bottle with cordial in it on the curb. I grabbed it and hid it behind my back. When he came closer, I had had enough of fighting these idiots so I squirted the whole bottle in his face. It was dripping all over him then I used my polar blast and froze him into a giant, orange ice block. “It’s time to get rid of the trash.” I said. So I picked them up and squashed them in the nearest bin. Then Aitutaki was nice and peaceful again. No bullies, no bad people just friendly Cook Islanders and happy tourists.
